Our Vision

“Renewable materials for the green future”

Reducing humanity’s collective carbon footprint and to create a sustainable future where waste is reduced and resources conserved. Through the development of circular systems, our goal is to extend the life- and value of products, leading to a future friendly and waste-free environment for all.

Ensuring a circular future and a trusted partner

We are all facing probably the most intractable sustainability challenges impacting the planet. Through our business we work directly towards reducing waste generation through the recycling of used materials (mostly waste bins, plastic crates, plastic bottles, plastic pallets and more) And as a leading technology company, we recognize our role and responsibility to play a part in managing and resolving these pressures.

We are also committed to being a partner with a long-term vision and loyal relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and end customers.

Our Mission

“Bring reliable plastic solutions faster, safer, and less cost-effectively”

Bring reliable plastic solutions faster, safer, and less cost-effectively.

As the world faces increasing environmental challenges, it’s more important than ever for entrepreneurs to act and do their part in promoting sustainability. Recycling is built on the call for urgent action and is rooted in everything we do.

We aim to provide innovative recycling management services, protect the environment, and promote recycling to ensure a safe and healthy community for current and future generations.

The values that define us

During its evolution, PPE is one of players in the Plastics Recycling Chain. We can dramatically increase recycling and upcycling rates by creating a circular economy for plastics, in which plastics are sustainably produced, used, reused, and recycled in stead of discarded.

ADVANCED RECYCLING INNOVATION

Advancements in recycling technologies are enabling the recovery of materials from a wider range of waste streams. Best practices for future policy development include setting ambitious recycling targets, incentivizing research and development, and promoting cross-sector collaboration, helping to reduce contamination and increase the quality of recycled materials.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Partnerships represent the pinnacle of leadership and collaboration in civil society. More than just a “purchase order”, true partnerships are the most difficult, rewarding, and effective form of decision-making available to us.

Direct or indirect achievement of strategic objectives. For us, it might be gaining commercial value through new business opportunities, or to ensure the sustainability of a supply chain.

INTEGRITY

Integrity isn’t straightforward, but it’s incredibly important, lasting growth. PPE wants to make other people happy and succeed professionally.

We are responsible for actions and decisions, including admitting mistakes and making amends and implementing fair policies for managing disputes and resolving issues, internally and externally.

CUSTOMER FOCUS

Our customer values are crucial to setting the standard for how company employees should interact with customers and with each other.

We seek to achieve and maintain the highest level of excellence in our employees, products, and services we provide for our customers. We’re open to continually changing ideas and exploring new ways to grow our business through teamwork.

Our History

In 2000,

The company, initially founded in 1994, was renamed to Plastic Pool Europe (hereafter “PPE”) and integrated into a Holding called Industrial Recyclers Holding (hereafter “IRH”).

In the same period,

Heineken, assigned PPE a major contract to renew the complete parc of Heineken- and Amstel crates. About 10 million crates were reground during a period of 2 years.

In 2005,

Industrial Recyclers Property (hereafter “IRP”) was incorporated. A first stationary recycling plant was acquired, and all other Industrial Assets were transferred to IRP.

In 2007,

PPE was rewarded in by AB!nBev South America with an important contract to renew their complete parc of crates. About 20 million crates were reground during a period of 3 years. Two mobile washing plants were ordered to wash all regrind produced.

In 2010,

IRP started the construction of a 5.500 square meter warehouse for its use and completed the acquisition as well of two properties for rent.

In 2012,

PPE decided to recycle also trash bins in addition to the recycling of crates by buying two mobile shredders installations.

In 2018,

Due to considering business growth and increasing operational requirements, PPE bought 10 hectares of land, situated in Manhay, the Belgian Province of Luxembourg to lift all space restrictions and by this be perfectly equipped to extend our recycling activity as well as approach our customers for the logistics services. This new workplace is situated in the middle of a nature reserve called “Natura 2000”.
With eight (8) mobile grinder units, six (6) of which are mobile, two (2) mobile shredder units, two (2) mobile washing plants including a fixed Eloy water treatment installation, one (1) homogenizer and one (1) agglomeration unit, PPE is perfectly armed for the future.

In 2024,

A park with solar panels will be installed on an area of 3.5 hectares, to which PPE will connect. This will cover PPE's entire electrical supply needs!

Facts and Figures

Today, the PPE group represents over 19,051 metric tons of annual polymer production, more than 150 active partners through many locations across more than 27+ countries worldwide. PPE’s production competence consists of 10+ mechanical recycling plants in Europe. This all would not have been possible without the help of its 30+ employees.
